Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Pieces
Are your crystals real?
Yes—always. Every piece is carefully sourced and hand-selected for quality, energy, and uniqueness. We do not carry imitation or man-made stones.
Why do some pieces look slightly different from photos?
We photograph every piece with the intention of showing it as it truly appears—no filters, no AI enhancements, just natural light whenever possible.
That said, crystals can look slightly different depending on lighting conditions and your device’s screen settings (brightness, warmth, and colour calibration can all affect how a piece appears).
Natural variation is part of what makes each crystal unique, and we do our best to capture that as accurately as possible.
Do you intuitively choose pieces?
Yes. Every item in the shop is chosen with intention and shopped for in person, or with personal shoppers I trust from around the world.
Crystal Basics
How do I cleanse my crystals?
There are several traditional methods, and which one works best depends on the stone. Smoke cleansing (palo santo or sage), moonlight, sound (like a singing bowl), or simply setting the piece on a bed of selenite are all gentle options that work for nearly any stone. Avoid water or sunlight for softer or color-sensitive stones — see below.
How do I charge my crystals?
Moonlight, especially during a full moon, is the most commonly used method and is considered safe for virtually every stone. Some people also charge crystals on a Selenite or Clear Quartz cluster, or briefly in sunlight — though sunlight can fade certain stones (like Amethyst or Rose Quartz) over time, so it's best used sparingly.
Can my crystals get wet?
Not always — it depends on the stone's hardness and composition. Selenite, Halite, and other soft or water-soluble stones (rated low on the Mohs hardness scale) can dissolve or become cloudy with water exposure and should always be kept dry. Harder, more stable stones like Quartz or Agate can typically handle a quick rinse.
Where's the best place to keep or display my crystals?
Anywhere you'll actually see and enjoy them — a windowsill, altar, nightstand, or desk are all popular spots. Just keep sun-sensitive stones (like Amethyst, Citrine, Rose Quartz, and Fluorite) out of direct, prolonged sunlight, as UV exposure can fade their color over time.
Do new crystals need to be cleansed before I use them?
Many people choose to cleanse a new crystal before working with it, as a way of clearing any energy it may have picked up along the way and setting a fresh intention. It's a personal practice rather than a strict rule — do what feels right to you.
What's the difference between raw and polished (tumbled) crystals?
Raw crystals are left in their natural, unaltered state — rough edges, matte surfaces, and all. Polished or tumbled stones have been smoothed and buffed, usually in a rock tumbler, to reveal a glossy finish and deeper color. Both are the same mineral; it's purely a difference in finishing.
Can crystals lose their energy or "wear out"?
Traditionally, crystals are believed to hold and radiate steady energy rather than deplete with use — but many people still cleanse and recharge their stones periodically, especially after intense use or a difficult stretch of time, simply as a way of resetting their own intention alongside the stone.
Is it okay to combine or wear multiple crystals together?
Yes — many people mix and match freely based on what they're drawn to or the combination of energies they're hoping to invite in. There's no fixed rule for how many stones you can carry or wear at once; let intuition guide the pairing.
How do I know if a crystal is genuine?
Reputable sellers should be transparent about sourcing, and genuine crystals will show natural variation — inclusions, slight asymmetries, and imperfections that are hard to fake. Suspiciously uniform color, unnaturally bright or dyed hues, or a price that seems too good to be true are all signs worth a second look.
What's a good first crystal to start a collection with?
Clear Quartz and Rose Quartz are two of the most commonly recommended starting stones — Quartz for its versatility and traditional reputation as a "master healer," and Rose Quartz for its gentle, approachable energy around love and self-care. Beyond that, many people simply start with whatever stone they feel most drawn to.
